INTRODUCTION
1. Background
of Study
Science and technology is always growing up and progressing
accordance the times and human’s way of thinking. Indonesia as one of
developing country will not be able to be a developed for not improving the quality
of their resources. Nation’s quality of life can be increased if it is
supported by an established education system and adequate technology. An established
education system, allow us to think critically, creatively, and productively.
And with adequate technology enables us not to leave behind the information and
use of technology system.
Indonesia is an archipelago country which has many natural
resources. Researchers, itself come from East Kalimantan Province that is best
known as the owner of the largest natural resources in Indonesia. Based on the 1999 unified
harmonious forest area in East
Kalimantan is 20.039.500 ha and 43.73 % is in border area.in addition there are also a wealth of flora
and fauna and other forest products that have
a high economic value, such as amber, sandalwood, bird nests, rattan and
others.
Potential mineral resources include gold, iron, lead and
zinc, limestone, gypsum,
sandstone, coal, and many more. The
potential is already detected among others; as
much as 176 tons of gold in West Kutai,
654 thousand tons
of limestone in Malinau, 25 thousand
tons in Nunukan,
12.32 million tons
in West Kutai, coal as much as 13.46 million tons
in West Kutai, gravel as much as 2.50 million
tons Nunukan, 6.01
million tons in
West Kutai, quartz sand as much as 1 billion
tons in Nunakan.
Tourism potential
in the border
region which includes nature tourism
(ecotourism) is a
jungle, rivers, streams and marine tourism, combined with a wealth of
cultural attractions that traditional values are still strongly embedded
in everyday life.
Japan is a developed country in various area of life such as:
political, economic, social, culture, technology and etc. Progress which is
happened in Japan of course give affect in infrastructure and education’s
quality in that country. History proves that education in developed countries
such as USA, Greece, Germany and other developed countries build nation’s
advancement by prioritizing education in their country which the state attempted
intellectual of nation’s life as well as appreciate of any development in
science.
A variety of educational excellence in Japan such as the major
in medicine, technology, literature, art and many more is the success of
Japan’s education system which has successfully able to answer various problem concerning
human resources that is needed in various field of employment.
One of the Japan’s progress which most popular is the field of
computerized technology. In fact, had mentioned that Japan is the country with
the most advance technology around the world. Now IT itself is dominant needs
in the society, one of them is Internet services. As we know internet can be
used for everyone without measured up by age, gender, circles, space and time.
Therefore, Internet was considered give significant impact in the process of
socialization in daily life.
One of internet product which is developing in communication
field is Social media. Social media itself is an online media, where the users
can easily participate, share, and create a content including blogs, social
networks, wikis, forums and virtual world. Blogs, social networks, and wiki is
a form that is commonly used by people around the world.
From the fact above, we are interested in doing research concerning
the use of social media in other country, particularly in Japan. We are
interested in conducting research on pattern of Japanese life especially high
school and university student to carry out activities which relating to social
media. This study is titled “Differences the use of media social among student
in Japan and Indonesia”.
2. Formulation
of The Problem
- Formulation
of the problem of our study are:
- How
large influence of social media among student in Japan?
- How
effective the use of social media in socialization process for student in
Japan?
- Does
social media gives benefit for student in Japan
3. Objective
of Research
Conducting this research, we have several objectives as
follows:
- For
knowing influence of social media among students in Japan.
- For
knowing effectiveness the use of social media in socialization process for
student in Japan.
- For
knowing benefits of social media that is obtained by student in Japan.
4. Benefits
of Research
The benefit of this research are:

Indonesia:
- Provide
information about the use of social media among student in Japan for student in
Indonesia.
- Provide
information about benefits of social media among student in Japan for student

exchange culture for both parties.
- Provide
information and new experience for the researcher.

Japan:
- Provide
information about culture, technology information particularly social media in
Indonesia.

a campaign media for the State of Japan in Indonesia.
